Every product starts as a hypothesis. I design the cheapest test that could prove it wrong, collect the evidence, and make the call: build, change, or stop. Then I publish the whole thing, including what fails.

WHY THIS EXISTS

I've always wanted to build something of my own. I started an engineering consulting business that never got off the ground, but it taught me customer discovery: talk to the people who have the problem before you build anything.

Along the way I realized software was what I wanted to focus on. Across every project I'd worked on, writing code and building tools was the part I enjoyed most.

So I built an equity research app for myself, because I was tired of doing fundamental stock research by hand. It took months, and when I finally had a working MVP, I had no real method for finding out whether anyone else wanted it. I tried selling research reports first and got some interest but no sales. Posting in communities by hand was slow, and views and compliments turned out to be weak signals.

The Project Moonshot grew out of that. It started as a faceless Instagram account where I shared my thoughts. Now it's a lab where I develop a method for testing demand before spending months building software, and put that method to the test on my own products, in public.

HOW THE LAB WORKS

  1. Hypothesis. Who has the problem, and what would they pay to solve it?
  2. Cheapest credible test. A landing page, conversations, a demo, a pricing test, or a prototype.
  3. Evidence. Behavior counts. Likes, views, and compliments don't.
  4. Decision. Build more, change direction, or stop.
  5. Publish. What I expected, what happened, and what I'm doing next.
